Privacy Policy

Effective October 6, 2026

Information you choose to share

When you contact Myrtle October, request updates, express event interest, or register, you may provide your name, email address, contact details, inquiry, and registration or attendance information. Please share only what is needed; do not submit sensitive medical, legal, or financial details through this site.

How information is used

Information is used to respond to inquiries, manage registrations and payments, communicate event details or changes, and send updates you request. An inquiry or event registration alone is not permission to add you to a mailing list. Newsletter subscribers either sign up directly or have separately agreed to receive communications, including guests who gave permission at an event. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of a Substack newsletter email, or request removal by emailing the contact below.

Privacy and service providers

Guest lists, email lists, and contact details are not sold or shared with other attendees or outside marketers. Information needed to operate the service may be handled by hosting, email, payment, or event-service providers. Limited information may also be disclosed when required by law. Guests must obtain permission before distributing another attendee’s contact details.

Email, registration, and payments

The Gentry Stroll waiting list stores your email address, signup date, and consent to receive its launch and registration updates. It is separate from the newsletter. To leave the waiting list, email the contact below. Newsletter signup is available through an embedded Substack form or links that open Substack, which manages newsletter subscriptions and email delivery. When you subscribe, Substack handles your email address and subscription information under its own privacy policy. The site’s inquiry links use your email application. Messages you send are handled by your email provider and the recipient’s email service. Payment links open Stripe, which processes payment information under its own privacy policy. Myrtle October does not receive your full card number through this site. Payment confirmations and relevant registration details may be used to manage your booking.

Website technology

This site does not currently include an added advertising tracker or analytics tool. When you dismiss the newsletter invitation, your browser remembers that choice for 30 days using local storage. The embedded newsletter form is served by Substack and may process technical information under its own privacy and cookie practices. Hosting and third-party services may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser information, and security logs to deliver and protect their services. Their own privacy and cookie practices apply when you use those services.

Photography and guest privacy

Attending an event does not give others permission to photograph, record, tag, livestream, or publicly identify you. Event-specific photography arrangements and restrictions will be communicated. See Professional Ethics & Event Standards for the conduct expected of guests.

Retention and privacy requests

Information is kept as needed to respond to inquiries, manage services and events, maintain payment or business records, and meet applicable obligations. Email octobermyrtle@gmail.com to request access, correction, deletion, or removal from optional communications. Requests will be reviewed, including any records that must be retained. No transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.

How information is disclosed

Information is disclosed electronically through email delivery, Substack newsletter subscriptions, Stripe checkout and payment records, and the hosting systems that serve this website. Contact forms open your email application; information is sent only when you send the email. When you follow a payment link, you enter payment information directly on Stripe’s hosted checkout. Myrtle October accesses relevant customer and transaction records through Stripe to administer purchases, refunds, and payment questions. If a venue or event provider needs registration information to deliver an experience, only the information needed for that purpose is shared through direct communications or registration records. Information may also be provided in response to a valid legal request.

Stripe’s handling of payment and technical information is described in its Privacy Policy. Substack’s handling of subscriber information is described in its Privacy Policy. External booking, social media, and other linked sites have their own privacy practices.

Security practices

This website uses HTTPS to encrypt information in transit. Payments take place on Stripe’s hosted checkout rather than a card-entry form on this website; this website does not store full card numbers or card security codes. There is no public guest-list or customer-record directory on the site. Inquiry messages are handled through email services, and payment records through Stripe’s account systems. Those providers manage the security of their respective systems. Please do not send passwords, card details, or sensitive case information by email. These safeguards reduce risk, but no internet transmission or storage system is completely secure.

Updates and contact

This policy may be updated as services or site features change. The date on this page identifies the current version. For privacy questions, contact octobermyrtle@gmail.com.
